Together with MEP Christine Singer (EPP, DE), the German dairy association organised on 14th April the 23rd German-speaking Veterinary Symposium at the Bavarian Embassy in Brussels. The discussions focused on animal diseases and vaccine strategies with MEP Christine Singer (EPP, DE), MEP Stefan Köhler (EPP, DE) and the competent services from the EU Commission and the German Ministry of Agriculture underlining the growing importance of these topics at both the European and the national levels.
FVE promoted the position statement Animal Vaccination: A Socio-Economic Cornerstone of Animal Health and European Resilience. To make disease prevention ‘future-ready’, FVE called national and EU competent authorities to work together to boost recognition of and incentives for preventive measures, e.g. increased biosecurity and preventive care through proper implementation of preventive animal health visits in all countries and sectors.
