On Thursday 10th of April 2 pm CEST, FVE held a joint webinar hosted with RoyalGD on Bluetongue Virus in Europe: lessons learned from the Netherlands and outlook on vaccination. Katrien van den Brink (GD Animal Health) and Alberto Contreras (European Medicines Agency), shared key lessons from the Netherlands’ experience with the Bluetongue virus and discussed the future of vaccination strategies (slides HERE).
The following week, FVE hosted a joint webinar with the FLI and EuFMD on Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Europe. The webinar focused on the recent FMD outbreaks across Europe and strategies to enhance resilience. Prof. Dr. Carola Sauter-Louis (FLI) provided insights into the recent outbreak in Germany (slides HERE), Polly Compston (EuFMD) presented European-level collaboration, strategies and challenges in responding to this outbreak (slides HERE) and Martin Chudý (Chief Veterinary Officer of the Slovak Republic) shared the most recent experiences and insights.
