Today, EASVO joins the celebration of International Day of Veterinary Medicine, a day to celebrate the contributions of veterinarians to the health of animals, people and the environment.

State Veterinary Officers, united in EASVO, are at the centre of this world and protect the health, welfare and well-being of humans, animals and the environment alike through a preventative approach. This is achieved by ensuring the safety of the whole production chain of food and feed, preventing or containing animal diseases and zoonosis, verifying the protection of animals from unnecessary suffering, and supporting sustainable agriculture, all in line with the principles of “One Health” and “One Welfare” and “One World”.

The EASVO strategy will guide our work during the period 2023-25 through which we seek to turn today’s challenges of veterinary medicine into opportunities!
