At the end of September, EASVO Vice President Andrea Leutgöb-Ozlberger met the FVE Board and had the privilege of attending several successful meetings in Hungary, culminating in the Visegrád Vet+ meeting on Saturday, 28 September. This event took place in the historic city of Visegrád, renowned for its role in fostering mutual cooperation and friendship among Central European states.
The Visegrad Vet+ meeting brought together veterinarians from 16 different countries, all united by a shared commitment to addressing the key challenges facing the profession. Among the topics discussed were the increasing threats from diseases such as ASF, PPR, and rabies, the growing trend of corporatisation in the veterinary field, and new initiatives on veterinary medicines, along with the identification and registration of companion animals.
FVE and its Sections, along with all participants, provided updates on current activities, including on the FVE Board meeting held the day before, demonstrating a true spirit of collaboration. This meeting embodied the ethos of Visegrád, where learning from one another and fostering joint action remain central to progress.
A special thanks to Zsolt Pinter and the Hungarian Veterinary Association, as well as Marek Kubica and the Polish National Veterinary Chamber, for their exceptional organization of this inspiring event.
