In partnership with the Belgian Presidency of the European Council of the Ministers, FESASS organised a European Symposium on biosecurity in livestock farms on 5th March. The aim of the conference was to review the threats and existing standards, take stock of achievements in the field of biosecurity (particularly in the cattle sector) and to look to the future by considering the contributions of research and projects led by farmers’ animal health organisations. EASVO Past-President and FVE Vice President Jane Clark joined the panel discussion which focused on the current interests and challenges of biosecurity implementation and the future strategies with a special emphasis on ruminant farms.
