The EASVO Young Network convened remotely on 6 December 2024, joined by French veterinary student Eloise Lorrain, who presented her thesis topic on workforce shortages among official veterinarians.
Participants discussed cross-country differences in allowing OVs to perform clinical work, highlighting conflicts of interest, wage concerns, and quality perceptions.
The group agreed that this practice may not address long-term clinical retention issues effectively.
Veronika shared her presentation highlights from the EASVO General Assembly, which included key topics like TRACES, OV training, and animal transport oversight.
The next network meeting is scheduled for 10 January 2025.
