On January 14th, Cornelia Rossi-Broy (EASVO Treasurer), Nancy De Briyne (Executive Director) and Wiebke Jansen (Policy Officer) met with Copa-Cogeca, the farmers stakeholders association representatives Miguel Angel Higuera (Chair of the Working Party on Animal Health and Welfare) and Paula De Vera (Policy Officer) to exchange on the FVE survey on the implementation on Animal Health Visits. It was agreed that prevention is better than cure and a 1-1 relationship between the farmer and the veterinarians as well as tailored biosecurity plans are key to success. However, regional and rural challenges due to workforce shortages and the unharmonised situation may lead to differences in disease prevention and management, posing risks for all actors. FVE and Copa-Cocega will join forces to promote the added value of a harmonised implementation of Animal Health Visits – Stay tuned!
