EASVO - State Veterinary Officers

The second EASVO Young Network meeting was held online on 31 May 2024, with four participants and several apologies noted.
Discussions focused on gaps in veterinary education and training, especially for animal welfare and soft skills, as well as structural changes in state veterinary work.
The need for better networking and interagency collaboration was highlighted, including handling animal hoarding cases.
Topics like visibility and recognition of state veterinary roles were postponed to the next session.
The group will present their work at the EASVO General Assembly on 13 June, with the next meeting date to be confirmed post-GA.
